Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants closing soon!


Applications for the Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants close on 29 November 2019. If you're considering applying for a grant don't leave it until the last minute, apply now! 


These grants are available to primary producers, small businesses and non-profits who suffered direct damage as a result of the North and Far North Queensland Monsoon Tough, 25 January - 14 February 2019. They can help you re-establish normal operations by assisting with clean up and reinstatement costs.


Primary producers
Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants up to a maximum of $75,000 are available to assist eligible primary producers with clean-up and reinstatement costs.

Note: Should the first application be less than the maximum grant amount, subsequent applications can be submitted to cover additional clean-up and reinstatement costs.
Small business and non-profits


Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants up to a maximum of $50,000 is available to assist eligible small businesses as follows:

  • Initial grant up to a total of $25,000 - to assist with cleaning and reinstatement costs immediately following the disaster event, supported by evidence of damage, e.g. photographs and/or quotes or estimates; and
  • Subsequent grant up to a further $25,000 - to assist you with additional cleaning and reinstatement costs must be supported by evidence of damage, invoices, proof of payment and insurances finalised.


If claiming a subsequent grant then evidence of payment must be supplied for both the initial and subsequent grant amounts. For further information, please refer to the scheme guidelines and application form.

Note: Businesses that have insurance can apply for the grant and cover eligible costs of clean-up and reinstatement before their insurance assessment.
