Flinders Shire Council invites tenders for the construction of a 450 Ml recreational lake on what is known locally as Station Creek immediately east of the town centre. The lake is pproximately 800m long and approximately 250m wide. The project will require the construction of a4-metre-high earth wall embankment to be built and the excavation of the actual lake area. The lake is on average 2.2 metres deep. A flood harvesting pump station is also required to be built, which will be used to source water from the Flinders River to fill the lake. Landscaping to the surrounds and the edge of the lake are required to be constructed along with stormwater treatment  systems. The Contractor will be responsible for the bulk earthworks to create the lake, the management of the spoil, construction of the earth embankment which will create the lake and the pump station on the banks of the Flinders River, the spillway and boat ramp. The Contractor will also be responsible for delivery of the landscaping package of works, which will include minor structures, garden areas, footpaths, lighting and gravel access ways. The contract will be divided into two packages, Part A will be construction of all items to create the lake, Part B will be the delivery of all items considered to be in the landscaping package.

The Contractor will be required to provide accommodation/camp facilities for the workforce on the project. The Shire will have several other projects active at the same time as the lake project and accommodation capacity is limited.

The works will be delivered under a lump sum construction contract based on an amended form of AS4000.

Council reserves the right to invite all tenderers to change their tenders to take account of a change in the tender specification.
A mandatory site visit for all tenderers will be organised on site in Hughenden, on the Tuesday, 6th February 2018.

The tender closes on Tuesday, 27th February 2018, with submissions due at the Premise office, tender box, Level 1, 84 Denham Street, Townsville, QLD 4810, at 12:00 pm.

For further information and to access tender documents please contact Premise by phone (07) 4772 0666 or email Michael.griffey@premise.com.au.
