Personal Helper and Mentors Program Personal Helper and Mentors Program

The Personal Helpers and Mentor (PHaMs) program is an Australian Governemnt initiative of the Council of Australian Governments' National Action Plan on Mental Health 2006-2011.  It is an innovative program that delivers support services to people whose ability to live independently in the community is effected by a functional limitation resulting from a severe mental illness.  The program creates opportunities for recovery for people by supporting them to overcome social isolation and increasing their connection to the community.
