Library Gets 150 New Books

FOR bookworms who have trawled every shelf at the Flinders Shire Library, Thursday February 9 cannot come too soon – this is the day locals will have a whole new selection of reading material to choose from.

Every quarter the State Library of Queensland exchanges a large range of books and DVDs with the smaller libraries around the State to ensure readers always have something new to discover.

The Flinders Shire Council Library will get about 150 new books as part of this quarter’s exchange.

These are the types of books that will be available for loan from Thursday February 9, 2012:

Adult Fiction: Mostly murder/mysteries and romance and general.

Adult Non Fiction: Australiana, biographies, war, gardening and cooking and a general selection.

Large Type: Cowboy LT... a large amount, as well as murder mysteries are the most popular titles.

Picture Books: Books for early reading or easy readers for children.

Junior Fiction & Junior Non Fiction: JNF books about Australia and first fleet

Young Adult Fiction: General selection

DVD: General selection
