GENERAL RATE
The minimal General Rate on all rateable land within the Shire of Flinders will be levied at $246.00 per assessment for the 2009-2010 financial year.

WATER CHARGE
The Water Charge on a private dwelling is $552.80 ($55.28 x 10 Units) per annum which represents an allocation of 1,200,000 litres per year. Meters are read two times during the year. Excess Water used during the 2009-2010 year will be charged at $1.00 per 1,000 litres.
SEWERAGE CHARGE
The Sewerage Charge on a private dwelling is $469.10 ($46.91 x 10 Units) per annum. The Sewerage Charge on business premises is $938.20 per annum ($46.91 x 20 Units)
CLEANSING CHARGE
The Cleansing Charge on a private dwelling is $178.40 ($17.84 x 10 Units) per annum. The Cleansing Charge on a business premises is $356.80 ($17.84 x 20 Units) per annum and it is compulsory to have a Wheelie Bin.
WILD DOG LEVY
That, in accordance with Section 971 of the Local Government Act 1993, Flinders Shire Council makes a Wild Dog Control Charge for the year ending 30 June 2010 and the level of charges adopted for items described in the Revenue Policy is –

DISCOUNT
That, in accordance with Section 1090 of the Local Government Act 1993, Flinders Shire Council fixes the discount on rates and utility charges levied for the year ending 30 June 2010 (excluding the Fire Service Levy) at 15%, providing payment in full of the current year’s rates is made within thirty days of the date of issue of Rate Assessment Notice and the payment is received in the Official Office of the Council, 34 Gray Street, Hughenden before close of business on or before the due date.
Council also offers a Pensioner Subsidy of 50% on rates and charges to a maximum of $475.00per year. The last day for payment of rates for 2009-2010 is 5.00 pm on Tuesday, 1 September 2009.
