Key items discussed at the January 2024 Council meeting included:

  • Approval to Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) application from Chelsea Smith to host a painting weekend at Cameron Downs State School
  • Support given to the Hughenden RSL towards the 2024 ANZAC Day event
  • Funding applications to be submitted to the Building Bush Tourism Fund for the erection of an equipment storage shed at the Hughenden Recreational Lake and to the Active Women and Girls Funding Program towards a leadership program for local female sporting players, coaches or volunteers to participate in.
  • Endorsement of the 'Shaping the Future of Hughenden Event Precinct' conceptual guide, giving future vision for the Hughenden Showgrounds, Hughenden Recreational Lake and Diggers Entertainment Centre.
