Flinders Shire Council is seeking a motivated and experienced Grader Operator join our Engineering Services team.
This is an opportunity to play an important role in delivering road construction and maintenance works across the Flinders Shire. The position is predominantly based within the Road Maintenance team, with the opportunity to work across other areas of Engineering Services as required.
Employment Status: Permanent Fulltime
Award: The position is classified as a Level 7 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017.
Remuneration: $78,063.18 gross per annum
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Demonstrated experience in civil works and proven ability to deliver timely and effective operational works with the ability to understand, interpret and apply relevant plans, legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Competent in operating plant/fleet with a record of safe operations and currency of licences/tickets as relevant to the role.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently relay information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and work within a team, share knowledge and experience and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to uphold Council’s Code of Conduct, Workplace Health and Safety and Anti-Discrimination policies.
Essential Education/Qualifications/Licences
- Current HR Class drivers’ licence with good driving history and willingness to provide driving history if/when required.
- Current C Class drivers’ licence.
- General Construction Induction (White) Card.
