Housing Grant Program
The Hughenden community is in immediate need of additional residential dwellings in the next three (3) years to meet demand.
Flinders Shire Council is taking the lead in providing and maintaining suitable housing and associated infrastructure for its workforce and the general community.
Due to the housing shortage within the Shire, Council and most businesses are facing constant issues finding suitable accommodation for internal staff, resulting in the inability to attract quality staff. This shortage also affects the external networks such as travelling tradesmen and consultants which in turn delays necessary works in the Shire.
If Council can expand housing stock and encourage residential development through different initiatives, it will significantly support the growth of local businesses, encourage migration and attract investments in the Shire.
