Key items discussed at the November 2022 Council meeting included:

  • No objections to permit to occupy application on the condition that wild dogs and noxious weeds are controlled, and that the landholder participates in the ‘Good Neighbour Program’
  • Director of Corporate and Financial Services appointed to act in the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer from 14 December 2022 to 22 January 2023
  • Plaque to be installed at Brodie Street park to acknowledge Windlab and Hughenden Lions Club for the generous donation of installation shade sail at the playground
  • Adopted the Flinders Shire Economic Development Strategy and Corporate Plan 2023-2028
  • Council to investigate options and feasibility for establishment of a Country University Centre in Hughenden
  • Letter received from The Honourable Stirling Hinchliffe MP announcing that the Muttaburrasaurus langdoni is the State’s fossil emblem; Council to write to the Minister thanking for the letter and announcement
  • Adopted the 2021-2022 Annual Report and the 2021-22 Auditor-General’s Management Report
  • Two quick response donation requests approved for Hughenden Chamber of Commerce (Street Christmas Party insurance) and Hughenden Hammerheads Swimming Club (hosting club nights)
