“Make the most of your Australia Day celebrations and head to the lake for this year’s fun and food-filled edition of Great Australian Bites,” said Flinders Shire Mayor Jane McNamara.

“Enjoy an Australia Day afternoon lakeside with friends and family, with swimming, boating and fishing.”

Entertainment and outdoor games will be provided around the Moran and Mowbray Street entrances.

“In addition, pick up a free family picnic BBQ pack from 8am to 11.30am at the Diggers Entertainment Centre and use the barbeque facilities at the lake to cook up a storm while listening to live music from 4pm,” added Mayor McNamara.

The celebrations will conclude at 8pm with a fireworks display.

The 2023 Australia Day event is proudly brought to the community by Flinders Shire Council, in partnership with the Queensland Government and the National Australia Day Council, and proudly supported by the Hit Network.
